Common Questions

Flourish Therapy

How do I know if online therapy is right for me?

Please feel free to call me with your questions. I also encourage you to schedule a free online consult session and see how it feels for you. Following the online consult, some families prefer an in-person intake session, which may be arranged for those able to travel to my office in Woodbury, and then they feel more comfortable moving forward with online psychotherapy.

Do you accept insurance?

Flourish Therapy is an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, you may still be able to use your out-of-network health insurance benefits, as well as your FSA and HSA.

  • You are responsible for paying the session fee prior to the appointment.
  • I will submit a courtesy claim to your insurance company for you.
  • Your insurance company will reimburse you according to your out-of-network benefits.

Questions to ask your insurance provider:

  • What are my mental health benefits?
  • What are my out-of-network benefits?
  • What are my telehealth coverage benefits?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

How much does therapy cost?

New patient intake session - 60 minutes - $165

Current patient session - 45 minutes - $120

Can I participate in therapy without it becoming part of my permanent medical record?

Yes. You may also choose to not submit claims to your insurance company, commonly referred to as private pay. You are still able to use your HSA to pay for private pay services, however services will not count towards your deductible plan.

There are benefits to private pay:

  • You have greater control over your sessions. You have greater confidentiality, as your therapy services are not part of your medical record; your diagnosis and documentation do not become part of your medical record.
